Vētītava

An AI-assisted grading platform for Latvian teachers, live today as grAIder and rebranding to Vētītava. Teachers keep a bank of reusable exercises, schedule assignments with deadlines and result visibility, and get an AI-drafted mark and written feedback for every answer — none of which reaches a student until the teacher approves it. Separate workspaces for teachers, students and school admins, with class invite links instead of student self-registration.

About

I teach databases and full-stack development at Ventspils Tehnikums, and since September I have been building Vētītava at GRAIDER SIA — an AI-assisted grading platform for teachers. Before teaching I spent years in corporate development teams, writing .NET and C# for systems work, Ruby on Rails on the web backend and Backbone.js on the front end. Alongside that I take freelance work.

I start from the business side of a project: what it has to earn or save, and who has to use it every day. AI is part of how I write software now — I draft, review and move through the routine parts with it, and keep the decisions and the final read on the code my own. The work I enjoy most comes from people who can say plainly what the software is for.
